How do I secure my own website address?
We can look after Domain Name registration and advise you of the best name to suit your business and whether you should purchase multiple domains to secure your company brand. Domain Name registration starts from £10 for a co.uk domain for 2 years.
How much does a website cost?
That depends on many factors. At our first consultation we will set out to create a proposal based on your requirements, costs will vary depending on the type of website that is needed. As a general guide a basic brochure style website of about 5 -7 pages including images will cost in the region of £400 - £550. Bigger websites and those requiring databases, eCommerce, Flash or additional images will be more expensive.
We do not charge by the hour and the price that is given in the proposal is the price you pay. Any additional work not included by the proposal will be charged at a negotiated price before any additional work is started.
How do I get listed in the search engines?
During the design process of your site we will include certain keywords and content to help your site to obtain the best possible position on all the major search engines. We research the most appropriate keywords or phrases used to search for your business, we include clear page descriptions and titles to aid in the search results.
After your site has been published and is live on the Internet we will review its position in the search engines and if needed will optimise the site where necessary.
How do I keep my site up to date?
After your site has been published live to the Internet we can modify and update your site for you either on an Ad-hoc basis or on a regular agreed period. These updates are charged at £25 per hour however a cost for major changes to the structure of the site or addition of pages and databases will be negotiated.
We are also able to build your website with a secure login to allow you to update certain pages without any technical expertise by yourself.
In certain cases we can give you the code to your site for you to maintain yourself.
What is the cost of hosting a site?
Depending on if your website has databases or eCommerce, most brochure style sites can be hosted using Caspian blue's Simple Hosting Package for an annual cost of £47.
If your site is more complex and uses databases, eCommerce or requires a large number of POP3 email accounts then the Advanced Hosting Package is required. This is an annual cost of £78. For more details on hosting packages please click here.
What content will I need to prepare?
To enable us to design and build your web site we need input from you. During the first consultation we will listen to your requirements and advise you of the number of pages and the structure of the site. Once agreed we then need to gather all the content for these pages. We require the text content and any images (digital or photo) that are to be shown on the site.
We will endeavour to complete the first stage of the design and completion based on the agreed timescale or live date. We can only achieve this if we have been supplied the content for the site.
How long does it take to build a site?
From the first consultation we will agree on a timescale for completeion of your website, this is dependent on the content supplied by you. We will endeavour to keep within the agreed time period where possible. The site can be monitored by means of a secure login to the site so that you review the progress.

We can offer a wide range of services from web design to complete server and network installations.
Other services available are; structured cabling installations, office re-location, system upgrades, health checks, security review, WiFi security reviews and installations, regular system maintenance, system performance reviews, support and user training.
What support services are available?

What backup strategy should I adopt?
Having a comprehensive backup strategy is probably the most important part of any businesses IT infrastructure. The more frequent and complete backups taken will ensure that in that awful situation where a document or file has been deleted, lost, overwritten or become corrupt you have another recent copy either on tape or disk. We recommend that a minimum of 5 backup cycles of backup should be in place (taken daily Mon - Fri) to ensure that there is a week's worth of data. The more cycles of backup increases the chance of retrieving lost or damaged data from an earlier date. These backups should be checked for successful completion daily and run test restores to prove the integrity of the backups at regular intervals.
Backup strategies do not need to be expensive.... but it can be expensive if you do not have a regular backup routine!
